3R Project- Reduce Reuse Recycle

On 7th March 2014, Leo Club of SMK Sungai Tapang organized a 3R project-Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Our organizing chairperson, Leo Lai Xin Joo asked all the Leo members to bring newspapers, plastics bottles, cans and others. The collection was started for a week. The things were then sent to sell and all the money got was used to buy some necessary goods for SSPCA. Our club also took out the club’s money together to help SSPCA. All the Leo members that participated in this project were really co-operative with our organizing chairperson.

Lastly, we appreciated the efforts for members and non-members to bring such a large number of newspapers, bottles and also cans. We hoped more activities like this can be held to promote the importance of taking care environment.

SCCS Gold Ribbon Selling

On 17 February to 21 February 2014, Leo Club of SMK Sungai Tapang had held a fund raising activity to help the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society.

We helped to sell the Gold Ribbon Pin (product made by SCCS) in the school. On those 5 weekdays, we used to sell 200 gold ribbons and finally raised the fund up to RM2000. Not only students from our school showed their supports, the teachers and students’ parents also bought the pin as their blessings to the children with cancer.

Last but not least, we were so surprised that we could raise such a big amount of fund during the short 5 days. We would like to thank everyone who gave their love and cares to the cancer children and we are looking forward to organise more fund raising activities to help more people. Lastly, let me mention about the Gold Ribbon Pin. The gold colour symbolized the precious nature of all children and the golden flame of hope that burns brightly for childhood cancer patients, survivors, families and caregivers.

Bring Loves before Christmas

On the 21st December 2013, there was a Region 1 Leo Joint project organized by Leo Kho Jia Ling. This activity was aimed to bring loves and cares to people in need and to celebrate the early Christmas with them. There were altogether 17 Leos took part in this meaningful project.

We felt touched and proud to ourselves because we could bring out loves to those in need. We were so glad to bring out happiness and to make them have a happier Merry Christmas Day. Although we were not Santa Claus, but we brought loves like him.
